Make It Right’s (Brad Pitt) “The Pink Project”
In 2007, Rehage Entertainment teamed up with Brad Pitt’s charitable
foundation, Make It Right. MIR’s mission is to construct 150 homes
within the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, an area devastated by Hurricane
Katrina. To introduce the MIR build project, Rehage was brought in to
produce a large scale art installation designed to generate much needed
awareness of the projects efforts in both local and national press markets.
Working closely with project visionaries and architects, RE: oversaw the
construction of 150 life size housing structures, symbolic of the neighborhood
as it once was, and with the tremendous outpouring of support The Pink
Project has received thus far, the neighborhood it will again become.
The Pink Project is an evolving installation over its five week life span
as the structures continue to assemble in real time as each house is funded
by generous donations. At the conclusion of the installation, the temporary
structures will come down and ground will be broken to begin construction
on actual homes.
