Mary J. Blige To Headline 2010 Essence Music Festival

At this years Essence Music Festival R&B diva Mary J. Blige will serve as the festivals headlining act. Although performing as the headlining act is quite the feat Blige shouldn‘t have any problems, she’s performed at the festival eight times already. “We’re thrilled to have Mary J. Blige on board for this year’s Essence Music Festival,” Michelle Ebanks, president, Essence Communications Inc., said in a statement. “Her history with the Essence brand, both with the festival and the magazine, makes her a great spokesperson for this year’s festival and we’re looking forward to working with her over the next few months.” The Essence Music Festival will begin on July 2 in New Orleans. Other acts are expected to be announced in the near future.
